This is a new song i wrote today. I hope you enjoy it.

Psalm 146

V1:

Put not your trust in princes

Or in a son of man

You won’t find your redemption

In any of his plans

For surely he shall perish

With all his plans and schemes

And buried with him in the ground

Are all your hopes and dreams

V2:

Put not your hope in riches

Or in beauty you behold

For vanity is fleeting

And no amount of gold

Can pardon your condition

But there’s one I know who can

He came to break the curse of sin

And save the souls of man

V3:

And as they crucified Him

And nailed Him to that tree

The sins of man did bind Him

To the cross on calvary

And as the crowds stood mocking

He died on our behalf

In three days He rose up from the grave

Now we are free at last

V4:

Put not your trust in princes

But hope in God’s own son,

Who keeps faith forever

And watches over everyone

He will never leave you

And His promises endure

So through the trials that lie ahead

Our hope will stand secure

This is a song i wrote today called “Tonight”. It was an exercise in writing for me. I decided to come up with a totally fictional story about this couple who are going through some problems and the song is from the mans point of view. It’s got some of me in it i guess, the whole emotionally-driven thing is me. It’s hard for me to love when i’m not “feeling” it. but i realise that love is not just emotion, it’s a choice. so that’s what this guy is saying. he will choose to love her. It’s also the first time i’ve intentionally set out to write a country song. I’ve had people tell me in the past that i should be singing country, so i thought, why not try my hand at writing a country song for myself. overall this was lots of fun to do. My friend Sarah is going to write a girl verse for it and we’re going to re-record it so that it’s from two different points of view.

I hope you like it!

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

-2 Corinthians 5: 17-18

I hope you like the song!

Ok so this is a song i wrote (and it’s not finished) but it’s about Gods transforming love. It’s a love that changes our desires and our hearts, so that we pursue heavenly things, we pursue His Kingdom above our own flesh. it’s really not done, but i just needed to practice being vulnerable, and letting go. ONCE AGAIN it’s just garageband and my macbook mic, so you’ll probably want to adjust those speakers…haha.

This is my cover of that classic song “Baby” by one, Justin Bieber. The first time i heard this song, it sounded so innocent, despite its high tech glossy sound. So this is my attempt at recreating what i hear in my head when i think of this song. It’s retro-ish. As always, the quality won’t be great, it’s just me and my computer here… so be ready to adjust those speakers…

So i was on twitter and i wanted tickets to see Greg Sczebel. He told me i’d have to earn them. this was what i came up with at 11 pm on a saturday night. Here are the lyrics:

So I saw it on my twitter feed

You had a show in a couple weeks

I always listen to you on repeat

So In the audience I need to be

So I @ reply you :what’s the deal

Are tickets still available?

You say if I want one I’ve got to prove

How much a fan I am of you

So I wrote this little song

To tell you

Yeah I wrote this little song

To let you know

That I’m your biggest fan, yeah love ya

You’re always blasting out on my stereo

If  you’re holding out for someone great

Then allow me to illuminate (lights are comin’ on, lights are comin on)

By that reference you can clearly see

I’ve been a fan since late Two thousand and three.

So I’ve got money in the pocket

But that won’t do

So I need to get my ticket

Straight from you

If I promise that I’m here to stay

Would you please just make my day…

So I hope this little song

will tell you

Yeah I hope this little song

 will let you know

That I’m your biggest fan, ohhh I love ya

So I need to be there for your show.
